US, Russian Envoys Hold Talks in Florida on “Variety of Topics”

(MENAFN) A meeting between US and Russian officials took place in Florida on Wednesday, where both sides engaged in discussions covering several subjects, according to reports.

The talks were attended by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and a Russian delegation headed by presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev. Witkoff later said the American side also included several senior figures connected to the administration.

Among those present were Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum, who joined the discussions alongside other members of the US delegation.

“The teams discussed a variety of topics and agreed to stay in touch,” Witkoff said in a message shared on the social media platform X, according to reports.

The meeting comes after a series of earlier diplomatic engagements involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States. Three rounds of negotiations have already been held this year, taking place on Jan. 23–24, Feb. 4–5 and Feb. 17–18.

Reports indicate that the first two rounds of those talks were hosted in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, while the latest session was conducted in Geneva, Switzerland.
